Friday, September 29-Sunday, October 1st at Shannondale
(A historic mission site of the UCC in Shannon County, MO)
When? We will meet at St. Paul’s on Friday, September 29th at 5:00 pm with the hopes of being on the road by 5:30. We will take the bus but also ’caravan’ together. Directions can be given to anyone that would like to arrive on their own time (earlier or later). It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive (windy roads!)
What? The specifics have not been worked out but we plan to spend a few hours on a mission project, worship at the church on Sunday morning, have a campfire, canoe (optional & $15 extra per person), relax, reflect and grow in our knowledge of one another. I think a game night might occur… Creek swimming if warm enough!
Food? We will stop on the road for dinner on Friday night and lunch on Sunday (you will need to cover these costs). Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner on Saturday, Breakfast on Sunday and snacks throughout the weekend will be provided. We will be cooking and eating together in Timber Lodge. Food costs are $40 per person (children 5 and under are free).
Housing? Timber Lodge has 4 bunk rooms that each sleep 10 (5 bunkbeds in each). There are a few ’private’ rooms available in the church building that sleep 2 to 4 (all have bunkbeds). The cost for Timber Lodge or Church rooms are $60 per person for the weekend. RV spots with water and electric are $44 for the weekend. Tent sites are available for $26 for the weekend. Some of these sites are a bit separated from the lodge (where we will be eating) but very doable. Echo Bluff state park is just minutes down the road if you would like to see if they have rooms available.
Youth in 6th-12th grade may sign up on their own (without a parent) and they will stay with Emma and Pastor Erica.
